Assistance to help you feel safer in your own home
The Homesafe scheme assists people who are at risk of violence from someone who either still lives in the same property or has since left but occasionally returns, to be able to remain in their own homes in safety and without fear of further harm.
We recognise that having to move home due to the fear of violence can lead to greater stress to yourself and your family. So, working together with the police, we make sure you receive the support, information and equipment you need to remain living at home and feeling safe.
Homesafe can provide:
- replacement locks
- door modifications and/or replacement
- new window fittings
- panic alarm
- mobile phone and letterbox security
If necessary a safe room can also be created. This is just a brief summary of some of the ways the Homesafe scheme may be able to help. It is not an exhaustive list.
We will work together with you in order to decide how we can help you feel safer as well as help you to take any legal steps that are necessary.
If you are a homeowner or in private rented accommodation you can access Homesafe by contacting us using the details below.
If you are a council tenant, you should contact your generic housing officer.
